Good morning, Pineapple fans! As promised, here’s my recap on my FIRST-EVER COMMERCIAL SHOOT!

First of all, I had a blast. It was really interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes. Since the Pineapple People are all professionals and have done this many, many times, everything went smoothly; we even ended up ahead of schedule.

The day began in a studio, for the “green screen” portion of the shoot. All talent was under strict orders not to wear green. When I asked why, I was told that anything green doesn’t show up. So if the local meteorologist wants to have a good time with his viewers, he needs to wear a green shirt and pants and appear as a floating head. Personally, I think that’s funny…others may not.

The rest of the day was spent in various locations around Tulsa…we hit an office building, a florist shop, a construction site and a teenage girl’s bedroom. Lots of running around, lining up talent, demonstrating what to do, et cetera.

There are so many elements wrapped up in a production; it’s amazing how many tiny details there are and how they have to be perfect. Luckily, the Pineapples are pros, and we had great talent that was easygoing and a lot of fun, and everyone did a great job!

Needless to say, I had a great time. Remember when you were in grade school and you loved field trips? That’s what yesterday was for me…a field trip. Minus the soggy brown bag lunch.

Don’t forget to check out our Facebook page for the rest of the photos and videos from the shoot!

So here it is, the brand-new blog of Pineapple Advertising. Allow myself to introduce….myself. Okay, that was a lame Austin Powers reference, but it’s still funny, right? My name is Ashley, and I’m the newest member of the Pineapple people. More info about the Pineapples is coming soon, I promise.

That being said, since I’m the new kid on the block, today is the first time that I get to go along on a shoot. I’ve never been involved in the production of a commercial before, and I must admit, I’m a bit excited. Let all the pros make fun of me, it makes no difference. Today we’re going on several locations here in Tulsa to shoot a commercial for Car Country, a local Buy Here, Pay Here dealership. Pineapple Advertising’s Founder/Creative Director, Brian Barlow,  is responsible for introducing the local area to “Rog, the Credit Cruncher,” who shows Tulsans that even if you have a low credit score, one of Car Country’s three stores will be happy to help you out and get you in a car. Rog has been a roaring success, so today we’ll be creating the third layer of the campaign. I’m excited to see what goes on behind-the-scenes. And, since I know you’re interested, too, we’ll be shooting some extra footage to share with you so you can see all of the hard work that goes into a production. I’m curious to see for myself.

Pineapple Power! More later…
