Good morning, Pineapple fans! As promised, here’s my recap on my FIRST-EVER COMMERCIAL SHOOT!
First of all, I had a blast. It was really interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes. Since the Pineapple People are all professionals and have done this many, many times, everything went smoothly; we even ended up ahead of schedule.
The day began in a studio, for the “green screen” portion of the shoot. All talent was under strict orders not to wear green. When I asked why, I was told that anything green doesn’t show up. So if the local meteorologist wants to have a good time with his viewers, he needs to wear a green shirt and pants and appear as a floating head. Personally, I think that’s funny…others may not.
The rest of the day was spent in various locations around Tulsa…we hit an office building, a florist shop, a construction site and a teenage girl’s bedroom. Lots of running around, lining up talent, demonstrating what to do, et cetera.
There are so many elements wrapped up in a production; it’s amazing how many tiny details there are and how they have to be perfect. Luckily, the Pineapples are pros, and we had great talent that was easygoing and a lot of fun, and everyone did a great job!
Needless to say, I had a great time. Remember when you were in grade school and you loved field trips? That’s what yesterday was for me…a field trip. Minus the soggy brown bag lunch.
